RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT APPROVES CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE FOR TOGLIATTIAZOT TRANSSHIPMENT COMPLEX IN THE SEAPORT OF TAMAN

Togliattiazot, one of the world’s largest producers of ammonia, has received all approvals necessary for completion of the construction and launch of ammonia and urea transshipment complex in the Taman Seaport, Krasnodar Region.

The completion schedule has been approved by Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport, FSUE Rosmorport and certified by the Russian Ministry of Transport.

Before end of 2015 the complex, financed by Togliattiazot, is to be included into the federal program for Russian transport system up to 2020.

Before March 2016, the government decree is expected on expansion of Taman Seaport and cargo flows will be included into the scheme of development of the Taman transportation hub before March, 2016.

Project documentation incorporating changes in the project and legislation, and state audit are to be completed before mid-January, 2017.

The 1st phase of the terminal will be launched into operation in 2017, the 2nd phase is scheduled for 2020.

Nikolay Fedorov, head of the project and Deputy CEO of CJSC Togliattiazot Corporation, notes: “Approval of the completion schedule by all interested parties is a significant step towards accomplishment of the project. I am confident we will strictly follow the schedule and the terminal will be launched on time”.

The project suggests putting into operation two phases of the terminal: for transshipment of ammonia and for transshipment of urea. Annual cargo turnover of each will amount to 2 million and 3 million tons respectively. The transshipment complex infrastructure provides for three main blocks: the hydrotechnic complex designed for admission of up to 50 000 tons deadweight vessels; the coastal terminal including facilities for transshipment of ammonia and loose cargoes, and a number of auxiliary structures. A number of key facilities have already been built and passed environmental expertise and are awaiting the decision on launching into operation.

The investment project will not involve budget funding. Total volume of investments amounts to over $300 million.
