TOGLIATTIAZOT HELPS DOCTORS

TogliattiAzot (TOAZ PJSC), Russia’s largest ammonia manufacturer, allocated RUB 3 mln. to Togliatti public clinic No. 4 that will be retrofitted for treatment of pneumonia patients from Togliatti, Stavropolsky District and Zhigulevsk amid the threat of coronavirus outbreak and spread. Dmitry Mezheedov, CEO of TogliattiAzot Corporation CJSC, discussed the shortage of personal protection equipment with Sergei Tetyushkin, head of Togliatti public clinic No. 4, and resolved to provide material aid to the clinic as soon as it was possible. His intent is to purchase over 60 thous. face masks and 70 thous. medical gloves for Togliatti public clinic No. 4, which will minimize the risk of COVID-19 infections among the medical staff.

“We feel obliged to support doctors fighting the new infection and protecting us from it. Joint efforts will help us all return back to normal in a short-term perspective,” Dmitry Mezheedov, CEO of Togliatti Corporation CJSC, pointed out.

At the time of the pandemic, TOAZ PJSC also undertakes all reasonable precautions to protect its employees. TogliattiAzot has now a quick-response anti-epidemiological centre made up of CEO deputies responsible for various functions. All plant gatehouses are outfitted with a so called access filter with mandatory body temperature measurement. All premises and office equipment are now subject to extra cleaning and disinfection. Sanitizers were purchased and made available in all public areas. The interior of corporate buses and cars is now subject to cleaning twice a day. TOAZ employees, who return from foreign business trips, are subject to a 14-day quarantine.

Dmitry Mezheedov, the CEO, also signed a decree to make all employees aged 65+ stay home for a lockdown. Office employees work from a home office.

Since the decree of Vladimir Putin “On Non-Working Days in Russia” does not apply to continuously operating organizations and operators of hazardous production facilities, including TogliattiAzot, plant workers, whose presence at the workstation is critical for the facility operation, as well as healthcare employees keep working in the regular mode, thus, also delivering the production safety.
