Dmitry Mezheedov Appointed CEO of Togliattiazot

Dmitry Mezheedov has been appointed the new CEO of Togliattiazot. According to the press service of TOAZ PJSC, he will take office today, June 25. Vyacheslav Suslov, who previously held this position, will retain his place on the Board of Directors and remain a member of the management team of the company.

“The company is grateful to Vyacheslav Suslov for his professionalism, which contributed largely to Togliattiazot achieving high production and financial results. Against the market volatility and difficult situation around the company due to unfriendly actions of minority shareholders, he managed to ensure high efficiency of the company. Under his leadership, the large-scale modernization of TOAZ production capacities continued successfully, important investment projects were implemented, and for the first time in many years the construction of a new unit was launched,” said Petr Ordzhonikidze, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Togliattiazot PJSC.

Since 2012, Dmitry Mezheedov has been Deputy General Director – Director for Corporate Governance and Control of Togliattiazot Corporation CJSC. In this position, he was responsible for improving the efficiency of corporate procedures, implementing internal control and risk management systems. In addition, Mr. Mezheedov headed the Transformation Programme aimed at the development of the company's business processes as a whole, and since 2016 he has been in charge of the construction of urea production unit No. 3.

Prior to joining Togliattiazot, Dmitry Mezheedov worked in Rosatom Group of Companies in executive positions in economics and finance since 2005. In 2000–2004, he worked in food and chemical industry companies. He is a graduate of the Economics Department of the Moscow State Academy of Instrument Engineering and Computer Science. In 2001, Mezheedov received a degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences from the Mendeleev University and received further training under the International Marketing programme of the MGIMO and RANEPA Consortium.

TOAZ is the leading ammonia producer in Russia, one of the three companies in the world whose capacity allows to produce more than 3 million tons of this product per year. TOAZ is also one of the key urea producers in Russia, producing urea formaldehyde concentrate and other chemical products that are in demand on five continents.

Togliattiazot is one of the largest taxpayers in the Samara Region and is one of the largest Russian companies according to the RBC, Forbes and Expert magazines. In 2019, Togliattiazot celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the plant: the first ammonia was received at TOAZ on April 7, 1979.

In 2019, 174 children aged 7 to 17 visited recreational and health centers. In August, 100 of them went on holiday to the Dream Summer Camp located at the Black Sea in the village of Dzhubga, Tuapse District. The transfer services and hot meals were also sponsored by the enterprise. 74 children were given vouchers for wellness programs in Togliatti’s Rainbow Recreation Center in a pine forest on the Volga river. According to the collective agreement, parents paid as little as 30 % of the holiday package value.

Around 50 high school students have opened a new school year in the vocational classes in Gymnasium No. 35 and School No. 41 in Togliatti, created at the initiative of Russia’s largest ammonia producer Togliattiazot.
