TOAZ AMONG BENEFACTORS OF THE YEAR

Based on the results of the city’s charity contest among legal entities, Benefactor of the Year 2016, ToAZ received the status of Honorable Benefactor of Togliatti. The contest, aimed at reviving and preserving Russia’s historic charity traditions, is held by Togliatti Fund charity foundation with support from the city’s administration.

The award-giving ceremony for the winners took place as part of the official reception by head of Togliatti city district Sergey Antashev on City Day. This year, commercial organisations, individuals, non-commercial organisations and initiative groups submitted over 30 applications for the contest. The expert council, comprised of representatives from the Samara Regional Duma, Town Hall of Togliatti city district and Samarskaya Guberniya regional charity fund, held a traditional assessment of the contestants’ charity activity based on 2016 results.

Togliattiazot was represented by Yuliya Petrenko, Togliattiazot PJSC deputy CEO and Public Relations Director. In her acceptance speech Yuliya Petrenko said: “The city needs comprehensive support by major companies, as well as social focus on the existing problems and joint work on resolving them. Last year we continued a number of charity events, aimed at upgrading social and healthcare facilities, and expanded our charity activity in the cultural and educational areas. I’m happy that ToAZ work has been recognized by the urban community for the second year in a row, to us that means that we are highly appreciated.”

Social projects, involving ToAZ on a regular basis, include greening of the city area as part of a program to restore the famous Togliatti forests of the Togliatti Fund. Jointly with the Togliatti Philharmonic, ToAZ holds concerts for residents of the Komsomolsky District in Togliattiazot House of Culture. This year, ToAZ, jointly with the Nebezrazlichno Fund, has launched the Impulse fellowship program to support talented musicians and promote cultural development in Togliatti. In 2017, ToAZ will continue to implement sponsorship and charity programs, aimed at improving the quality of life in the native city.
