TOGLIATTIAZOT WINS LEADER OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION 2015 AWARD

OJSC Togliattiazot has been honored two straight years as the winner of the annual all-Russia Leader of Environment Protection competition. The public and expert committee has given the highest rank to Togliattiazot following a comprehensive evaluation of the company’s application.

In the application Togliattiazot presented its achievements in industrial ecology and consistent implementation of sponsorship and charity programs, as well as key investment projects.

Special attention was dedicated to the project of mobile ecomonitoring and integrated system of all-round environment protection.

Vitaly Dmitruk, deputy CEO for industrial, environmental and labour safety at Togliattiazot, commented: “Our program for industrial and ecological safety is focusing on integration of cutting edge solutions, which, along with facilities upgrade, contribute to better environment. Our environmental programs have been a priority within the development strategy and repeatedly made us leaders in industrial ecology”.

The award ceremony was held in Moscow on the sidelines of the Global Expertise and Russian Economy International Forum.

Each year Togliattiazot initiates a number of ecological activities including volunteer clean-ups and ecocycling race in Togliatti, restoration of forests that burned in massive fires of 2010 and releasing baby fish into the Volga river. The company is supporting the unique national park Samarskaya Luka and is a frequent participant of international ecological forums.

In 2015 Togliattiazot won the top title among industrial plants in nomination “Clean city” of the ECOTOGLIATTI all-city eco initiatives competition. The company project titled “Days of protection from environmental hazards in the city” received a special acknowledgement by the mayor of Togliatti Sergey Andreev.

Technical solutions for environmental safety developed at Togliattiazot won recognition at a federal level: ToAZ specialists have contributed to the technical guide on best available technology on production of ammonia, mineral fertilizers and non-organic acids, which was approved by the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology on December 15, 2015.
