TOAZ LAUNCHES HIGH-TECH RAIL TANKS CLEANING SYSTEM
ToAZ has launched a project of an advanced system of rail tanks cleaning.
As part of the investment project worth over 500 million rubles, a high-tech system will be installed for the efficient internal cleaning of chemical tanks used for transportation of the company’s products.
The system consists of three stations, each equipped with a washing unit and a high pressure module. The advanced feature of the system is vacuum pumping of wastewater. The complex is also equipped with a system of wastewater separation. It allows for simultaneous cleaning of three tanks that contained different products, avoiding mixing of substances. Along with easy removal of substances solutions, these features ensure environmentally safe disposal of chemicals.
Dmitry Petrunin, director of transportation and logistics of OJSC Togliattiazot, noted: "Our investment program is aimed at improving efficiency and overcoming constrictions in production chain. The introduction of our own technological complex of preparation and cleaning of tanks will help to significantly reduce both direct and indirect costs as well as the time required for preparation of rail tanks for use, primarily due to on-site works. Most important, the project cuts the risks of pollution due to a sophisticated approach to product residues collection and their subsequent disposal".
The project is to be completed by end of 2016. The system will allow ToAZ to independently prepare the rail tanks for filling with chemical products as well as wash and steam the tanks before maintenance.
