Ammonia Ammonia is one of the major products of chemical industry; it is used to produce nitrogen-based compounds, nitric acid and fertilizers (ammonium nitrate, carbamide and composite fertilizers). Applying 100 kilograms of ammonia to one hectare of land can increase wheat yield by 8 to 10% and corn yield by 60%.
Carbonic dioxide “Dioxide” company was established in 1992 based on production shop producing carbonic acid. The company comprises process facilities for liquid carbonic acid, "dry ice" and ammonia water deriving plant. Thus, a kind of ecologic center was established here for ammonia waste disposal, which is currently successfully operated in its new quality.
Carbamide Carbamide as a highly concentrated nitrogen fertilizer. It is also used in agriculture as effective protein additive to fodders. Besides, carbamide is used in production of artificial resins, plastics, adhesives, packs and for oil refinery. Wood-processing, textile, food, pharmaceutics and many other industries are also on the list of its fields of applications.
CFC Development of carbamide-formaldehyde concentrate, patented by ToAZ in 1998, was a great scientific achievement of the company. Two grades of CFC are currently produced on the same process equipment. One of them is intended for processing of granulated nitrogen fertilizers, while another one is used to produce high quality resins at Sheksna Wallboard Factory, which is also a part of TogliattiAzot Corporation.
Basalt fiber and film Production of high-strength basalt fiber was established to provide the sites of TogliattiAzot Corporation with quality and environment-friendly non-flammable insulation material, with a combination of properties excelling previously used glass wool.
Refractory materials and frit Production shop for refractory products was set up in cooperation with Austrian company Plibrico, supplier of raw components and ingredients being the basis for production of dry concrete compounds and ready shaped products.
Ceramic production Deposit of clay, of a good quality, is situated, so to speak, right under feet of ToAZ workers. Therefore, it was logic that brick factory with annual capacity of 60 million bricks became the first enterprise of the Corporation for production of construction materials; the factory was purchased from Spanish company Agema.
Consumer goods Consumer goods production shop comprises several working areas for production of furniture, structural items, working uniform, knitwear and an area for stuffing and packing.
