RUSSIA ADDS TOGLIATTIAZOT PROJECT TO FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION NETWORK ROADMAP

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed an instruction on adjustments into the Russia’s territorial planning scheme for the development of federal transportation system.

According to the instruction, the ammonia and mineral fertilizers transshipment hub that is under construction by Togliattiazot is included in the planning scheme. The document marks that overall capacity of the Taman seaport will increase from earlier designed 30 mln tons to 35 mln tons.

The RF Ministry of Transport had earlier approved the schedule for integrating railroad cargo flows of the transshipment terminal into the development plan of the Taman transportation hub.

Furthermore, the government decree No.5011p-P9 on July 11, 2016 endorsed the roadmap for sea ports development in the Azov-Black Sea area through 2020 that also envisages the construction of the transshipment terminal.

The cargo turnover capacity of the ToAZ transshipment terminal will amount to 2 mln tons of ammonia and 3 mln tons of urea per year. The terminal will have three main sections – an onshore unit for transshipment of ammonia and bulk cargo, a marine complex that will accommodate vessels with carrying capacity of up to 50 thousand tons of deadweight, and other auxiliary facilities.

The Taman dry-cargo port project is part of the federal target program for development of the Russian transportation system from 2010 till 2020 and was included into the marine port subprogram by the government on May 30, 2016.

Togliattiazot is a sole investor in the terminal project; the overall amount of investments will total $300 mln.
