The Russian government has published a list of 295 companies vital to the backbone of the Russian economy that may be entitled to different forms of government support during the period of global economic crisis.
A government report stated:
«The main aim is to work with these companies in maintaining their stability, not only through credit, but by other means such as state guarantees, subsidizing of interest rates, restructuring of tax liabilities, government contractual work and customs tariff policy”.
JSC Togliattiazot and JSC Transammiak are included in the government list of companies key to the backbone of the Russian economy. JSC Togliattiazot is the country’s largest ammonia producer and its stability is vital to the city of Togliatti. JSC Transammiak operates the Russian segment of the unique ammonia pipeline between Togliatti and Odessa.
According to Sergey Korushev, Togliattiazot Director of Staff, Labor and Social Issues Director, the company welcomes the government’s decision as it emphasizes the important role of the plant in the national economy and provides hope for solid government assistance during the difficult conditions caused by the global economic crisis.
